Storysacks and Phonics Course

This is a 6-week course for parents/carers and their children to discover together the joy of storytelling. The course is practical and interactive and includes:
• Exploring the art of storytelling
• Making the most of songs and rhymes
• Making puppets, games and toys to support storytelling
• Using puppets, toys and props to bring stories alive
- Understand how the school phonics scheme is taught
The course is designed to:
Enable parents/carers to support their child’s development and provide fun learning opportunities.
Become confident supporting their child in learning to read and using the schools phonics scheme.
Provide opportunities for parents to extend their own literacy skills and work towards a qualification, if appropriate
Provide advice for parents/carers on progression and accreditation routes
You need to be able to commit to the 6-week course.
You will also have the opportunity to work towards the AIM Awards Skills for Making and Using Story Sacks Learning qualification.
